I’ve received a few questions about changing settings for our groups on Gather. In response, I wanted to share the attached info sheet with each group that currently exists. Please review and let me know if there need to be corrections.
It lists the current members, “managers” and group settings. Gather uses Mailman, a free software for managing e-mail discussions and lists. Gather provides a simplified way to make the most common changes — like adding and removing members — but to use *all* of the Mailman functions and further customize the experience, one needs to access the Mailman admin itself. Group managers have permissions to do that.
I have temporarily made myself a “manager” for every group (except Tri-Pilots) so I can help with these tasks, unless or until your group’s “chair" feels confident doing so themselves.
